psl || feeling alive all over again
[Coming home is a big deal to Anya.
She trains all over the world - it's part of keeping competitive, her mama tells her - but she misses things about Russia. She misses the starry skies, the constellations, the food, the people, not to mention time with her family. No matter how often she's away for things that she knows are important for her career, it never eases the ache in her heart for what's familiar back home.
But winter is a great time to come back. Just in time for the big New Year's celebrations that light up the city. Just in time to learn new recipes from her grandma that she can take back home.
Just in time to see one of her favorite people.
She's already been back for a few days - spending some time in St. Petersburg before she travels to go see her mama and papa - but she extended her stay just a little bit more once she found out that Yuri would be flying in soon.]

… and it’s not like she looked into it after she realized that her increased heart rate and flushed face and jumping at every text came from a crush or anything.
Still, she takes the opportunities she can, including the chance to bury her face in his shoulder with a melodic little hum as she wraps her arms around him as easy as breathing.]
Welcome home, Yuratchka…!

[ a sound of approval--thank you. as anya knows, yuri isn't the greatest at showing gratitude. (they're working on it.) so when he does with little gestures, little sounds, it means something, even as he slowly lets go and puts his hands back in his pockets.
(her hair smells really nice.)
wait. the fact he even thought that scares him--he shuffles his feet a bit, hitching the strap of his duffle bag over his shoulder again. grandpa calls them over to the car out front, and yuri follows. ]
We're going to my old man's place, if you wanted to stop by.
no subject
Especially if he's not paying attention?
Anyway.]
Mm? Really? It's okay if you wanted to spend more time with your grandpa - I wouldn't mean to intrude...
[but also yes she wants to, she can't deny that]
no subject
[ ah.
he is definitely not paying attention, busy situating his luggage as anya sneaks a flower into his hair. he actually does not notice, up until his grandpa starts smiling at him suspiciously. ]
What? Is there something on my face?
[ and then yuri pulls out his phone and uses his camera, the perfect mirror really, to check his reflection. perhaps some sauce from the airplane food-- ]
Haaah?! Nastenka-!!
[ ANYA... ]
no subject
Mm? Yes?
[and she's giggling, pleased as can be. unfortunately. but when Yuri speak to her with the full diminutive name like that, how can she be anything but full of warmth and pleased with herself? even though his tone is less than approving....
so maybe she gets a little bit enjoyment out of playing with him like this]
how did i miss this notif
anya.
he takes the flower out of his hair and throws it inside of the car--not on the ground, at least--angrily, stomping over to the passenger's seat. he's all huffy now, slouching in his seat and folding his arms across his chest.
typical yuri, honestly.
at least grandpa's opening the back door for anya! ]
LMFAO you're fine
but she's startling when he just throws the flower?? oh...... anya gives her thanks to grandpa - manages an apologetic smile even as he's still laughing, so at least he's not mad at her - but then she'll sit in the backseat and
peer around it to glance over to Yuri
softly, while grandpa is still putting bags in the back:]
Yuratchka...?
[the pet name for a ) when it's just the two of them or b ) when she's especially emotional but
paired with sad kitten left in the rain eyes]
You are mad at Anya?
no subject
he's buckling up when anya calls his name. yuri stops, holding the flower in his hand out of sight, only briefly turning his head to be met with sad kitten eyes.
he's weak. ]
...What do you think?
[ he's too stubborn to admit he's embarrassed but also not feeling mean enough to pretend he's pissed, so.
there. ]
no subject
[sheepishly - she'll admit it as her fault and she doesn't ever want Yuri to feel anything besides happy. so she hums and adds softly:]
I wanted us to match, but maybe next time in a better way.
[a soft little laugh]
Anya will buy leopard print maybe.
[though with that attempt at a truce, grandpa comes back in the car and Anya is back to being an obedient good girl, buckling in and just going along for the ride]
HEEEERE
[ he rolls his eyes, but yuri is a softie. mostly when it comes to anya. so.
when she's not looking, he puts the flower back in his hair, right where she left it.
she can see it from where she's sitting, at least, even if he doesn't say anything about it. his grandfather smiles knowingly as he gets starts the car up and drives. yuri spends a majority of the ride telling grandpa (and anya, if she's listening) stories about japan, about being an idol, about his bandmates. things that he's carried back from his second home through the language barriers. ]
no subject
When he puts the flower back in his hair, she feels something warm and pleased and almost smug blossom in her chest, but doesn't say anything otherwise. Instead, she's happy to listen to his stories, making little noises from the backseat to let him know that she's following along.]
So busy, Yura... But it makes my heart happy to know that you are having fun.
