He'd been worried about how he'd be able to watch her leave on tour again, but now he's not sure how he's going to leave this house if he doesn't make himself say something. It's Anya herself who gives him an easy opening, even if the way she says it makes his chest ache, deep and fond. Mao smiles at her when she looks up at him. ]
I feel warmer too. I missed you so much... my Anya. It was hard to share you with the world, you know.
[ His smile softens as he watches for her reaction. Even if she reacts badly, he's so glad to just have her here that it might not even hurt. ]

Ah....]
.... смущающий.... Mao is saying something embarrassing....
[aaaaaaa even though she can't help but laugh faintly after, bashful and pleased]
Even though I... missed you too? No matter where in the world - everywhere? - I would think, "I wish Mao was here." That is a little эгоистичный? Selfish...

I dunno, I think that would've been nice, to have been with you everywhere. I think I was more selfish, thinking all the time, "I wish Anya was home." You were having an adventure--no, more than that, you were performing! You were living your dream with the whole world.
[ And he's so proud, he wouldn't want anything else for her. The real dilemma for him is what he wants, but maybe, maybe there's a middle ground here. ]
Maybe next time I'll be good enough to go with you, if you still want that.

Funny thing is that she can't really imagine that there's anything in the world that she could want more. Her eyes light up and she ends up bouncing on her tip toes a little bit, even though it's kind of impossible for them to be any closer, really. It sort of just brings their faces really close? Almost nose to nose, but Anya's too excited at the prospect - she might've jumped on him if she had just a little bit less self-control.]
If? Нет! No!
If Mao would come with me - that would be... идеальный? It would be perfect!
Would you? Please? I do not think I would want to ask for another thing if you did.

So he takes Anya's hands in his again and squares his shoulders. He can do this. It's Anya. She's the least scary person in the world. ]
If we're going to to do that, though, then... I want to tell you something first, Anya. Because I realized something while you were gone, and it's that if you asked me for something else even after this, anything else, I'd do it. Because... I like you. I like you.

When he takes her hands, she automatically squeezes back, holds onto him as if she has no intentions of letting go. Then when he says that - she blinks in confusion, in surprise. Then she can't help but feel a bit flustered, heat rising to her cheeks even as she can't tear her eyes away from him as she wonders out loud - ]
Mao likes... me?
[And the emphasis worked on getting it through to her, coupled along with the simplicity of his words. It gets her heartbeat to pick up again as she looks at him in wonder.]
Oбещание....? Promise? You are not....
[Lying? But then again, Mao would never lie to her, would he? It's that sort of realization that manages to get her expression to settle on something sincerely happy, pleased and excited all at once as she nods.]
Ah... because Anya promises. I promise that I like you too. Um... The like kind of like.... if that is okay?

He's concerned but only for a moment. It's amazing to watch the reaction on her face, the surprise dawning into happiness. He tilts his head and smiles down at her when she hesitates. Not lying, not ever.
Somehow, even being as certain as he was, her answer still makes his heart skip and his smile turns into a grin. He's excited too; he never imagined she'd say no in a way that'd hurt but he wasn't prepared for just how good a positive response would feel. ]
I promise. And it's more than okay, Anya, it's great. It's the best thing I could've hoped to hear. Thank you.
