The issue at hand here is that Chiaki Morisawa is terrible with girls - especially pretty, sweet, kind, wonderful girls... like Ann! Ann is wonderful. Ann is hard-working, she's beautiful, she's cute, she's quirky, she's got a smile that could make crying babies laugh and eyes so lovely and honest that sometimes it takes Chiaki a second too long before he looks away.
Ann probably has a boyfriend, right?
She's never said as much, but Chiaki had been certain of it a while ago. There is no way that someone as warm and welcoming and wonderful as Ann could possibly still be available - and yet she still spends her time with him?! Since they've met, he's been amazed at how easily he could talk to her despite the fact that most girls still intimidate him beyond any reasonable measure. It's just something magical about her!
Still - like he's drawn to the very sun itself, he waits for her after a photoshoot. She'd mentioned that she would have one today and he was in the area, so why not a little surprise? He gives a wave to the familiar crew and makes small talk until he hears her voice, immediately distracted with his head turning toward the sound of it. He misses the way that the crew laughs at him, the mumbles of "young love is something, isn't it?"
When he sees her, he grins and waves his hand in the air far too eagerly as his greeting.]
Takamakiiiii! I'm here to walk you home!
