There’s just this big ball of sunshine, laughing his way through as he also has dozens of balloons trailing in his wake. They’re tired onto him, onto his shoes, shoulders, along with the bundles that he’s holding his hands.

You might find him stopping to heroically pose in front of young children before giving them whatever color balloon they ask.

You might find him tangled up in string like a goddamn fool because he spun around too quickly—

Or you might find him locking eyes with you, gaze sparkling as he offers out a balloon.]

[Consider: asking him what the occasion is since he’s apparently terrible at explaining anything at all?

ii: ALTERNATIVELY, it’s not hard to get the jump on Chiaki. Maybe you know it’s his birthday. Maybe someone told you. Maybe you got grabbed by a random young ranger and pulled into a room where friends are all gathered to shock him as he comes in.

ii: ALTERNATIVELY, he’ll allow himself one little treat toward the end of the day. He’s at a bakery, eyeing a delicious looking cupcake. His eyes sparkle as he’s about to point to it to order –

But then he realizes that you seem to be looking for something. What’s up? Short on money? Want the same cupcake he does?

He seems to hesitate for a moment, unsure how to approach someone else so suddenly but eventually works up his voice - ]
