the issue at hand is that he doesn't have the same entourage as his sister, so it's instead money that he uses to pull someone to embark with him, because loyalty is hard to come by. someone possesses the skills and the courage alike to travel with him, berne tashi armelia, heir to the armelia dukedom - and he wants to waste not even a moment.

[ In direct contrast to the fine silks and textured fabrics of one who is clearly nobility, the clothing of the young man who approaches is... well. Casual at best. Which suits Ash just fine. If he had to sell all of the furniture in his apartment to pay for a cravat, he's better off not even thinking about it. And so he moves confidently now, bag slung over one shoulder and the other hand shoved deep into his pocket.
Regardless of anything else, the pay is good, and the people of Raquel could certainly stand to make use of it. ]
