It's hard when you're fifteen, and trying to date, but you're both separately undertaking very large responsibilities in two totally different worlds. Jin Ling sets off to his accomplishments in his own world, and Anya does hers - admittedly a bit less dangerously. Each night that she can spare a moment, she speaks with him through the necklaces, staring out her window to the stars over Tokyo and wishing only that it was easier to pretend that they shared a sky. It's not enough, but it works for some time.
At least until everything has died down enough that she can spare a moment to visit, and he's in a better situation to welcome her. She takes NHS upon his offer first, visiting him so that she can help be better acclimated to the period - and perhaps she can't deny that she wanted to visit Beau as well. Everything is at least converging so their visits can overlap and the time she's spent waiting for Jin Ling isn't long -
Yet that won't change that she's antsy, playing with the long cloths of the dress she was given, letting the fabrics twine around her fingers again and again until she finally brings her hand up to her necklace, where the magical pendant sits next to the bell he'd given her. She's || this close to just wandering out of the compound on her own to greet him.]
[When he returned home, the first thing he had to do was not die at Uncle Jin Guangyao's hands. Bad. Turns out the man was as snake in the grass as they come, and the wire he had looped around his neck wasn't the greatest thing in the world. But it's fine now. A lot happened, and they all came out of it.
All except Uncle Jin.
Which means he is slotted right into being the LanlingJin sect leader, after several conferences between all of the other sects (and the decision on whether or not to continue with a Chief Cultivator. Still ongoing.) So he's unfortunately been a little busy, trying to get the hang of being a leader at only fifteen.
Sadly for Anya, Lanling's Koi Tower is... huge. And so blatantly rich. The inside is just as wild, and everywhere anyone steps, it smells like peonies.]
Wait a little longer! [He sounds breathless through the necklace. This idiot boy must be running. He can fly on a sword, but he's running instead.] I'm coming!
Unfortunately, Anya is a good girl - so she's neither affronted by nor swooning over how blatantly luxurious everything is. Rather, she'll remain where she's been led to the entrance, looking around and honestly? Just enjoying how lovely the flowers are. She won't touch anything or wander off just yet, but she will stop to quite literally smell the roses peonies.
When his voice comes in through the necklace, there's no helping the way she automatically smiles. She lets his hand rest on the necklace before responding, voice soft and sincere:]
Mm, okay. I am here. I will not go until you find me.
Ah... Медленный. You do not need to hurry... I am only excited to see you.
[Anyone's guess why she doesn't think that would only make him hurry more? But she's at least Trying to not rush him worse.]
[The other disciples of the sect are probably at least helpful enough to drop Anya off at the top. There won't be so many stairs. Unfortunately, there are still stairs.
Those stairs are short, but spill him out to her in a bit of a heap on the ground--he had tripped at the top, face blazing red. She really shouldn't have said she was excited to see him when he was running full force to greet her. Not too becoming of a sect leader, and the skin of his face stays the color of a tomato.
Almost immediately, he goes from lying to standing, leaping up to his feet. His hands frantically try to sort out his robes.] I'm here! I-- [He freezes when he looks up finally to focus on her. She's in something different.
[there are so many damn stairs, but at least they lead to her disaster het.
When he falls flat on his face, she startles and immediately begins to head for him - slower than she normally would, unfortunately. Closet full of dresses and short shorts at it is, she's not used to her hemline being quite so... long... So she's still figuring out how to move even slightly faster in these draping robes, but it's fine, she'll get there eventually.]
Ling! У тебя все нормально? Are you okay?
[Though once she does arrive on the same landing as him, it's automatic how her hands reach out for his, not minding his gawking. It has been way too damn long since she got to hold his hand?]
[It comes shooting out of him, and while he doesn't jerk away from her, he does jerk as if she's scalded him. She has, but not physically. He cannot believe-- What is this?! Gently, he grabs her by the wrist, will not let her step close to him at all.
He gawks when he appraises her, raising her arms up.]
Well, there's no hiding the disappointment on her face when he keeps the distance between them, brow furrowing as she tilts her head in confusion. That said, she's as easy to lead as ever, raising her hands up as he moves her limbs around, the silks and cloths shifting with the motion.]
Mm? Nie said I could stop to see him first so I could wear clothes that - гармонировать? Ah - do not look odd here, but...
[She pouts, just a little.]
Does it look bad on Anya? Maybe does not suit me...
[SECT LEADER NIE, WHY?! Again, his mouth sort of drops open, but then he focuses, lowering her hands quickly. He tries to escape with his own, but Anya definitely probably won't let him, so he's trapped.]
N-No! I didn't say that! That's... that's not what I meant! I just didn't-- I mean, I wasn't expecting... [WOW. Sometimes, you simply need to hard reboot after blue screening, and that's okay.] You look nice! [Fuck.]
[She is absolutely not letting him - but it's gentle when she claims his hands, a request instead of a demand as her fingers try to curl around his before he gets too far. He still can pull away from her, but will he?
Though she blinks a few times as he trips and stumbles over himself before seeming to relax then, actually preening a bit from the compliment? Maybe he's the peacock but she sure does love praise, smiling even as pink dusts her cheeks just a bit.]
... you think so? Спасибо. Thank you.
You look good too.
[idk it just makes sense to give a compliment in return even though he doesn't dress different, she'll probably be more generous if he ever tries tokyo fashion
and then as for what she actually wants to say to him:]

[She's patient, she swears.
It's just - oh, to be so close and yet so far.]
