The rabbit teased the turtle for being so slow all the time, so the turtle challenged him to a race. The rabbit was faster of course, and he was so certain in his victory that he decided to take a quick break.
By the time the rabbit woke up, it was too late. The turtle kept moving while the rabbit was asleep, so he ended up winning in the end.
