[ well, she can't complain too much. she did rescue him from a recent blizzard, kept him company and warm albeit with some slight reluctance. but the scientist has one of the more... stellar personalities she's had the pleasure to meet, so it came as a surprise to her when she finds out that he personally sought her out to escort him through dragonspine. usually people who can't stand her because of her lineage would make it well-known first before leaving her alone for good.
so far though, they'd been civil. wherever scien needed to check out an outcropping or a clearing, eula would step in first to clear out the monsters and hilichurls that usually occupy the area with relative ease. this time, she wasn't embarrassing herself by shivering in the cold like last time in his makeshift laboratory. this time, she was locked tf in.
or so she thought.
she'd fought her fair share of frostarm lawachurls in this part of the mountains in the past, but their precarious position with the edge of the cliff just within reach is making it too risky for her to perform her usual moveset. she does manage to weaken it enough after chipping away at its own defenses, but after swinging her sword at the end of an elaborate pirouette, her ankle twists at an unpleasant angle and she'd almost missed her step -- only for scien to cast enough electro energy for her to recover fast with yet another twirl, defeating the lawachurl with an upward slash of her claymore.
down it goes. and so does she, landing on her butt on the snowy ground and wincing. ow, ow... ]
[ the twist of her ankle catches his eye—and his frown deepens for a moment. that will need medical attention. when the lawachurl faces its defeat and crumples pathetically in the snow, scien steps forward—he moves lethargically on a good day, lazy as hell, but he'll catch eula by the waist just before she ends up entirely in the snow. for someone who spends most of his time indoors and focused on research, he still manages to take her weight as though she's as light as a feather
his multi-colored eyes look down at her, raising a brow. evaluating. ]
Is this already your limit?
[ because it would be too kind to say 'are you hurt' like a normal person ]
[ she'd thought she was going to hit the ground, only to be saved in the nick of time. she gazes back at him for a moment, brows slightly knit together as she gathers her bearings. ]
Not typically.
[ and then, a wince. her leg -- ]
I sprained myself. Thankfully it doesn't seem to be serious, but...
[ hold on, give her a moment to readjust herself by flinging an arm over scien's shoulders as she leans fully against him. there we go. ]
[ his complaint is half-hearted as she adjusts her hold, even though he doesn't seem bothered to be taking her weight. there's something tangentially annoyed about it, but no real heat to the syllable.
he holds his hand out in front of him, at a slight angle like he's expecting her to just deposit her heel in the palm of his hand ]
[ the guy saw her twirl with a claymore once and thought she can bend in all directions, wtf ]
I'd rather we find someplace to sit first before I show you the extent of my injuries.
[ huffs. ]
Thankfully, there should be a makeshift study hidden away in the mountains not too far from here. Surely you can guide me through that bridge over there, right?
[ let's just say the bridge to albedo's lab is repaired for our own convenience shhh ]
I'm only pointing you towards our respite for the time being. I will still guide you to where you need to go.
[ what a diva. moreover, she's not really doing this for money anyway. but before she can retort, she's lifted up in his arms, causing her to automatically wrap her arms around his shoulders. the fact that he's able to carry a tall woman like her should be commended, but instead she's just... stunned into silence.
[ scien is a diva and a headache, but he at least won't abandon her on this mountain. the bar is below ground level.
even still, the stunned silence amuses him enough that he huffs out a breath that could almost be a laugh. he starts walking toward the direction of the bridge, unbothered by the additional weight of her in his arms. if he's so capable why didn't he just go on this journey himself? (because he never goes outside)
even still, he doesn't bother to bite back a tease— ]
Did you presume I was fragile alongside being dead weight?

[ he complains like a bitch! but he’ll follow her gaze to look over and find the bridge in question, sighing heavily
and without even a little bit of warning, he’ll shift to sweep her right off her feet, bringing the spindrift knight into a princess carry ]
