i legit opened up my muselist and was going HMMM WHO SHOULD I PLAY?? I WANT TO PLAY WITH DANA SO I MUST CHOOSE WISELY and thought about this so hard during dinner and then i realized

But here's the thing: Lili didn't venture out of the Water Tribe territory very much and though she came to Kouka maybe once or twice, she's a little bit unsociable. As such, she never really left the room that she was staying at in the castle very often because that might mean running into... y'know.

Other humans.

Not very desirable.

Except now she's trying to dodge away from Ayura and Tetora's watchful gaze so she can do some investigating on her own - again, like that hasn't gone badly every time - and she's found herself a little... lost. Yet she's also hiding behind the pillars at any given sound - but what she doesn't expect is to bump into another body just as she's trying to make another quick dash to find the exit.]

Ah, excuse—!

[And then she realizes who she's talking to.]

[After all that's happened, Soo-won can honestly say that he's pretty impressed with -- not only Lili's tenacity (though that in itself is still impressive, it's one of the traits he admires about her) -- but her desire to carry on investigating even in the midst of all this foreign and military turmoil. Most of which is his fault, he will totally admit, but anyway. It's puzzling, it doesn't quite snap in within the puzzle he's created out of all the people around him, and maybe that's why he's always more than likely to encourage her, rather than caution.]

[Except for the part about bumping into people while trying to sneak out... LILI PLEASE]

Miss Lili! [He says, with the tone of someone who probably should be surprised but isn't, but is happy to see her anyway. He's dressed in his usual, wearing the fine clothes of a nobleman but without the characteristic symbol marking him as king. so like a rich dude.] It's good to see you.

You know how Soo-won did that really rude thing where he covered Lili's mouth his hand - well, he probably got away with it because he's the king. Lili is going to try to get away with it because, y'know, she's Lili. So she's reaching up to cover that blabbermouth with her hand, glaring daggers all the way even as she glances around to make sure no one's around to overhear.]

BECAUSE OTOME!! because guards actually, sadly. probably out on a patrol like the good soldiers they are, and thankfully not ayura or tetora because those two would find them so fast...]

[Anyway, he makes a quick gesture in order to point them out to her]

[IT ABSOLUTELY MEANS THAT and Lili's judgmental for a little bit - then she's surprised about to squawk in indignation because WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS, HE CAN'T JUST PULL HER IN LIKE THAT (she's still a maiden even if she thinks that soo-won's face looks like tofu, her heart picks up just a little bit and her eyes widen and)

she also seems to forget for a moment that he's the king so really he can Do Anything He Wants.

at least this time it seems to be working in her favor as she glances over her shoulder back to where he's gesturing - guards? annoying. - and then she turns back to him and uses her other hand to press a finger to her lips

as if she's not already keeping his mouth shut with her other one

but also yeah she's dedicated enough to her escape mission that she'll accept being stuck so close to their king for... a little bit....
