mikazuki will go to follow afterward then, keeping his hands neatly folded behind his back like an old man and... he walks. he's genuinely just walking as he watches tsuru nyoom down the hallway. the staff managing the estate glance over in tsuru's direction and seem to open their mouths to say something about no running - but then notice mikazuki following after and refrain... if their honored grandfather is alright with it....]

Ha ha ha. Don't trip, Tsurumaru.

[ it has been way too long since he has done anything like this

he laughs, dashing along the hall, spinning around when there's room to-- it's almost like being a child again, first learning how to move on your own. it's thrilling, and it fills tsuru with a kind of unfiltered joy that's hard to describe.

except. he's not used to using these muscles and reflexes like this anymore, so when there's a corner to go around he instead just

[ his hip is fine. he probably has a bruise now somewhere, but he won't actually see that until he changes clothes again.

but once he makes sure that nothing is broken, he grins. ]

But did you see that? Wasn't it surprising? I don't believe I've run that quickly in decades.

[he just parrots it before placing his hand on tsuru's hip, giving it a tap tap. that would probably not help if something actually happened to tsuru's hip]

tsurumaru's hand wraps around mikazuki's wrist, and gently lifts it away from his hip. he tugs on it, before letting go to start walking again. back to their adventure. ]

Ha ha ha. Your stamina is not what it used to be? Perhaps there is still some hope for the rest of us.

[i don't know why he's talking like this when he has not even started to try to do anything particularly youthful since he woke up? but maybe some old grandpa habits just die hard. really hard. he'll still let himself be tugged briefly before resuming his pace.... meandering and easygoing. it is going to take so long to get places.

but at least mikazuki's room isn't too far - and he'll move to enter the chambers first. because they are definitely chambers. a sitting room in the center, his bedroom to the right, a walk-in closet to the left. there are so many pictures in here, of his family, anniversary photos with his dear dead wife - and some from his college days with tsurumaru and co.

he wanders in the direction of the closet though, half of it full with ceremonial robes, the other half with his day to day wear which is still needlessly fancy]

granted, tsurumaru isn't poor or anything, but still. ]

[ tsuru feels like he needs to rest his bones after all of that, despite not actually needing to rest. but it's habit, so he settles down in a chair in the sitting room.

he tries not to look at the photos. it's strange, because he was never particularly jealous, or bitter about how things turned out. but somehow looking at the photographs of a life mikazuki had feels more like an invasion of privacy than it should, especially since normally tsuru has no issue with being nosy over that kind of thing. ]

if tsuru doesn't care to look at the photographs, he'll at least be able to distract himself with the pottery and the artwork because they're plenty of that too. it doesn't look like anything that's quite at the level of needing to be in the museum, but it's all very nice indeed. rich people. jiji probably owns a banksy.

but he'll go to get his own grandpa fashion - trying to find clothes that won't be entirely horribly fitted on him. even though he probably grabs some coat to settle on his shoulders regardless. it's a slow process which is probably why he needs tsuru's help, but he will eventually peek out - ]

[he should be thinking that but alas. jiji watches tsuru for a moment just to note where he apparently had his impact, before gesturing to where there's a designated part of his closet where he can hang clothes that he plans on wearing. it's not that many pieces, it's fine.]

[for the record the staff in jiji's estate don't actually wear butler and maid uniforms but he'll make the joke at tsuru without hesitation]

and then he moves to actually help mikazuki undress, humming some old song under his breath as he gets to work. ]

[he just parrots after tsuru with a a laugh in his voice even as he easily lets himself be helped, because he is definitely used to this. at least it's easy enough to get him to strip! and once he does, he actually does look down at himself and hum thoughtfully]

but this probably goes faster than it normally would, because tsuru's hands aren't shaky and he can properly see what he's doing. it's kind of amazing how much of a difference this is making. ]

It's hard to recall when oftentimes we had to walk more briskly so you did not cross paths with your last flame who knew your class schedule.

[imagine two beautiful men powerwalking across campus just to avoid an awkward run-in. tsuru probably had to ride in jiji's car to school so that his didn't get keyed? also tsuru probably had to drive jiji's car to school while jiji was in the passenger's seat?]

mikazuki didn't date in college. it was interesting that he didn't, but it wasn't completely out there for tsuru; after all, he only dated as much as he did because he was bored. and then mikazuki got married, but in all honesty, tsurumaru has no idea why that particular girl was chosen over all the others. what about her stood out that made him decide he was fine spending the rest of his life with her?

she's the only basis tsurumaru has for this. even if he doesn't think that's quite right. ]

[mikazuki's wife was sweet and understanding, but she was playful. even if she never quite matched his boldness, it was likely due to the fact that her family's standing was just a bit lower than his. she was forceful, and easier to read than he ever was - but he wouldn't call her particularly meek by any standard.

though she's not the person he's thinking of as he answers tsurumaru's question either.]

there's a pause as he continues to fiddle with dressing him, and once he's satisfied, tsurumaru takes a step back to admire his work. ]

but he'll move to grab his coat anyway, a comfortable and drapey thing that he moves to just allow to sit over his shoulders. it's a miracle that it doesn't fall off, but it's fine. fashion. apparently he's not going to comment on the shirt if tsuru is going to let him go outside like this. there is a 90% chance one of the staff members will stop mikazuki before he leaves the estate]

but if that's everything, tsurumaru will move to leave the room. since despite how casually they're taking all of this, he is full of questions on what the fuck is going on here. they can get a look at all those strange things. ]

[sometimes it's just better to take things casually even if your body was just rewound about 70 fucking years. mikazuki will follow after tsurumaru, closing the door to his chambers after giving it a lingering look. the only time he'll move to pick up the pace is so that he can be stepping in time with tsuru, and then gesturing down another hallway]

Let us take our breakfast and make our plan for the day, then.

but once they make it to the dining room, everything is already prepared. there's the eggs and jiji's toast, but also more items for a western style breakfast. pancakes and waffles if they want them, a side of bacon, milk and apple juice but also of course there's tea even if it might not otherwise fit the menu.]

Shall we take a car into the city? I think it would be rather fun if you cared to drive it.
